NP just announced that their former, much lamented, Noilly Pratt French Dry Vermouth, the essential ingredient in millions of see-throughs is, after a three year absence, returning this fall to the US market as Noilly Prat Extra Dry.
The replacement of French Dry Vermouth by Original Dry Vermouth in 2009 drew forth howls of anguish from martini aficionados, and Noilly Prat heard them. So come Thanksgiving Biff and Chip will have their favorite gin-enhancer back – all be it under a different name – and be able once again to stir up the perfect holiday martini.

Phew! I am forwarding this news to several friends who were distressed that the they couldn’t get the NP they knew and loved. As for me, champagne, champagne, champagne!
