Great new winery today, and great new wine, for me, the Finca Contancia Red 2008, a blend of Cab & Syrah from the Spanish province of Toledo just south of Madrid. The Cab brings elegance and polish to the blend, the Syrah notes of violets, pepper and cinnamon all wrapped together with harmony and balance. Bravo to talented winemaker Beatriz Paniagua! Stay tuned, there will be more good stuff to follow from this impressive operation.
