The Glories of Ancient Garnacha

Revelatory vertical of Secastilla from new, relatively, Spanish appellation Somontano with winemaker José Ferrerbut and export manager Bernardo Hualde of Vinas del Vero. Made from ancient 80 year Garnacha bush vines planted in impossibly dry, rocky “soil” high, high in the hills within sight of the Pyrenees.

The 2001, ’04, ’05 & ’07 are all beautifully made wines impossibly packed with fruit-rich minerality, earthy undertones and hints of peppery spice. A testament to the glories of wine from ancient, mountain-side Garnacha vines.
