Still amazingly fresh and fruity even if it lacks a sense earthiness, but this is the first vintage from the vineyard and the more recent vintages, if not ready to drink, show more depth and complexity. Look for a Nick’s WineCast on the 2002 Russian Hill Syrah coming shortly.
