At La Garde Robe, my new favorite Paris wine bar.
Olivier Montégut runs his wardrobe-sized boite with the same infectious enthusiasm he applies to his mouth-watering selection of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie as he does to his carefully chosen list of unusual, small-producer wines.
Standouts included a Beaujolais Blanc 2009 from Jean Paul Brun, the delightfully named Rosé d’une Nuit, Domaine du Deffends 2009 from Provence, and Guy Bonière’s Val de Saône Pinot Noir 2005.
Pair these with the chunky, fat-rich paté d’Ardêche, a jambon de Bayonne to die for and a pungent copa from Corsica, not to mention the camembert affinoise and the nutty compté and you are in wine bar heaven.

Thank you! Am heading for Paris later this year and have added La Garde Robe to the list!
Don’t know it, but since I live here, I will surely have to make a point to go off to the 1st arr to try it!
I imagine you know about the Lavinia wine concept store/restaurant on 3, Boulevard de la Madeleine? http://www.lavinia.fr
