The amazing Duckhorn 
Vineyards Howell Mountain Merlot 2000 at the congenial Landmarc restaurant in Time Warner Center, NYC. All to many merlots are flabby, feeble things, but not this glorious powerhouse. Earthy, intense and finely focused it amazed, and pleased, the two skeptical chums I was dining with as much as it wowed me.
